GPX Racing fills the runner-up spot in the ALMS GT championship with 50% of the victories

Updated: 3 days ago

This February, the GPX Racing team took part in the Asian Le Mans Series for the first time in its budding history with a Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Julien Andlauer, Alain Ferté and Axcil Jefferies. The two Frenchmen and the driver from Zimbabwe won comfortably in Dubai with 24 seconds in hand over their closest pursuers. They put on a repeat performance in Abu Dhabi with the same gap after four hours of intense effort. With two victories out of four races they were the best performers in their category and finished in the runner-up spot with the extra satisfaction of winning on the track an automatic invitation to the next 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Pierre-Brice Mena, Team Principal: “We can be very pleased with ourselves as we dominated the championship and once again, we shone on our home turf on the Dubai Autodrome. We proved that we could be very competitive in a championship that was totally new to us. Understandably, we are rather frustrated because it looked like the title was ours for the taking. We contested a sporting decision at the finish of the last race, but in a spirit of conciliation we decided not to appeal.”

Over the coming weeks the news concerning GPX Racing will be rich in content with, in particular, different programmes and one or two surprises!
